On September 30, 2010, the USCIS Office of Public Engagement hosted a National Webinar; one of a series of listening sessions on the USCIS Transformation program.
On September 23, 2010, Director Mayorkas hosted a quarterly meeting with stakeholders. Director Mayorkas spoke on a number of issues including the final fee rule, updates on the newly created Fee Waiver Form (Form I-912, Request for an Individual Fee Waiver), the Policy Review, and our initiative to combat the unauthorized practice of immigration law.
On September 17, 2010, USCIS signed an Agreement of Settlement and Release in the case Milanes v. Napolitano. The settlement refers to class-action litigation on naturalization delays as a result of FBI name checks. The agreement is effective September 20, 2010.Milanes v Napolitano (PDF, 1.56 MB)

DHS Offers Temporary Employment Authorization to Certain Haitian F-1 Students Affected By the January 12, 2010 Earthquake
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is suspending certain requirements for employment authorization for Haitian F-1 nonimmigrant students experiencing severe economic hardship as a direct result of the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
