The USCIS Service Center Operations Directorate invites interested stakeholders to participate in the next Monthly Stakeholder Teleconference scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm Eastern Time. These engagements present an opportunity for stakeholders to receive current information from service center officials on particular topics of interest. The California Service Center will host the September teleconference with assistance from the Vermont Service Center.
On August 10, 2011, the USCIS International Operations Division, Office of Policy & Strategy, and Office of Public Engagement invited stakeholders to participate in a teleconference to discuss process changes for the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative filed by petitioners residing overseas.
On August 10, 2011, USCIS invited interested parties to participate in a stakeholder meeting to discuss issues of importance to immigrant entrepreneurs, start-up companies, and those who represent these parties.

Released Aug. 12, 2011WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) reminds eligible nationals of Haiti (and persons without nationality who last habitually resided in Haiti) to file for Temporary Protected Status (TPS).TPS was originally designated for Haiti in January 2010 in response to a catastrophic earthquake that devastated that country. The current 18-month extension of TPS for Haiti will remain in effect through Jan. 22, 2013. The following three groups are covered under the Haiti TPS extension and re-designation:
Released August 12, 2011 WASHINGTON—USCIS will prioritize the processing of Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, for certain SSI recipients when the applicant’s:• SSI benefits will be terminated within 1 year from the date listed on your SSI notice; AND,• Form N-400 has been pending for 4 months or more from the date of receipt.The following are instructions for individuals whose SSI benefits are being terminated within 1 year and have applied for OR will apply for citizenship through Form N-400.
