18-Month Extension of Honduras and Nicaragua for Temporary Protected Status

USCIS Reminds Eligible Nationals of Haiti to File for Temporary Protected Status

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) reminds eligible nationals of Haiti (and persons without nationality who last habitually resided in Haiti) to file for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). TPS was originally designated for Haiti in January 2010 in response to a catastrophic earthquake that devastated the country.
Manchester, NH Field Office closed several days due to electrical outage

The Manchester, NH Field Office will be closed starting Monday, October 31 due to a lack of power, and may not re-open for several days. Applicants scheduled for interviews today and through the remainder of this week at Manchester will be notified, either in person or by telephone, that they have the option of traveling to the Lawrence, Massachusetts office (2 Mill Street, Lawrence, MA 01840) for the interview. Applicants who choose not to travel to Lawrence will be rescheduled for interview in Manchester.
Relief for Nationals from Central America Stranded in the U.S. Due to Extreme Flooding

Extreme flooding occurring in Central America has led U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to remind everyone of immigration benefits available upon request to eligible nationals from countries in that region.USCIS understands that a natural disaster can affect an individual’s ability to establish or maintain lawful immigration status. Temporary relief measures available to eligible nationals from Central American countries that are currently in the U.S. may include:
Revised I-693 to be Introduced Nov. 1

On Nov. 1, 2011, USCIS will introduce a new, more user-friendly version of the form used to report results of medical examinations for those seeking certain immigration benefits, Report of a Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, Form I-693. Civil surgeons completing medical examinations between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011, should use the new form dated 10/11/11. However, USCIS will continue to accept the previous version, dated 7/20/10, for examinations completed between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011. Beginning Jan. 1, 2012, civil surgeons must use the new version of the form.
